Experience adventure into the heart of Korouoma, one of Finland’s most striking natural wonders. Departing from either Kuusamo or Rovaniemi, this 7–8 hour excursion leads you deep into a dramatic fracture valley known for its towering cliffs, serene forests, and the region’s most impressive frozen waterfalls. Accompanied by a professional nature guide—who is a photographer and a biologist—you’ll gain fascinating insights into the area’s unique geology, ecology, and seasonal transformations.

The journey by car from Rovaniemi and Kuusamo to Korouoma takes about an hour. After this, the hike in Korouoma takes about 2 hours, which includes lunch. After the adventure, we return to our accommodation in Kuusamo or Rovaniemi.

As we hike through the snow-covered landscapes, there will be excellent opportunities to observe northern bird species and, with a bit of luck, encounter semi-wild reindeer that roam freely across the region. Your guide will assist you in capturing memorable and high-quality photographs throughout the journey, both of the breathtaking scenery and of your group. After the trip, all curated photos will be made available to you through an online gallery. You can use photos on social media, for example.

Midway through the day, we gather around an open fire to enjoy a traditional Finnish outdoor lunch, delicious sausages. For dessert, we will make marshmallows and coffee over a campfire. Warm drinks and the comforting atmosphere of the forest make this an ideal moment to relax and take in the tranquility of Korouoma’s wilderness.
